Mr Angus McIndoe

Angus, a recognised leader in the field of colposcopy, heads up the team at the McIndoe Centre. He is a fully trained and accredited gynaecological oncologist and was lead in both these areas at Imperial College Healthcare for many years. He has worked at The Wellington Hospital, The London Clinic, The Portland Hospital, The Lindo Wing of St Mary’s, and The Sainsbury wing at The Hammersmith.Mr Angus McIndoe is one of the foremost UK consultants working in the field of Gynaecological Oncology today. A New Zealand native, Angus qualified in 1980, after which time he moved to the UK to take up a position at the Whittington Hospital in London. It was there that he gained general surgical training and experience, including a clinical research fellowship at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund under Professor Peter Beverley, subsequently leading to a PhD.

In addition, Angus has published several papers in colposcopy and the related field of HPV, and has trained many colposcopists for practice both within the United Kingdom and abroad. He has been widely published. He is a member of the British Medical Association, British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology, British Gynaecological Cancer Society, Royal Society of Medicine, British and Irish Association of Robotic Gynaecological Surgeons, Society of European Robotic Gynaecological Surgery, and London Consultants Association.

Pioneer in robotic surgery

Angus is recognised as both a leader and pioneer in robotic gynaecological surgery for benign surgery and for gynaecological oncology. He was one of the early surgeons in the field and has performed a wide range of procedures using the Da Vinci robotic system. He has worked as a mentor and trainer with surgeons beginning their robotic programmes in the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, Sweden, Belgium, France and Switzerland. Mr McIndoe has pioneered the use of single site robotic surgery, which uses only port through the umbilicus for the whole robotic system. He performed the first single site hysterectomy in the UK and will be the first in Europe to use the new wristed needle driver for the single site system. Additionally, he mentors other surgeons across Europe in Single Site techniques.

Mr Srdjan Saso​​

Mr Saso is a consultant gynaecologist and gynaecological cancer surgeon at Imperial College NHS Trust. His general practice focuses on the diagnosis and management of a wide-ranging number of gynaecological issues in women of all ages.

Mr Saso has a particular focus on the treatment of gynaecological pathology, both cancer and non-cancer, in young women who have not started or completed their families. Non-cancer pathology includes many of the common presentations: fibroids, endometriosis, adenomyosis, problems with the menstrual cycle and period, and pelvic pain.

​

He also specialises in both complex benign and cancer surgery, as well as the application of ultrasound to diagnose gynaecological pathology.

​

The advantage of Mr Saso’s clinic is that he offers a one-stop service: consultation, ultrasound scan and colposcopy if required and management plan including surgery, all under one sitting.
