Mr Joseph Yazbek

Mr Yazbek is a highly experienced specialist in gynaecological and early pregnancy ultrasound, with particular expertise in improving the diagnosis of ovarian tumours to support the most appropriate treatment decisions. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London and leads research into borderline ovarian tumours, fertility preservation and fertility restoration. He is a regular speaker at national and international conferences in these fields.

Alongside his diagnostic expertise, Mr Yazbek has extensive experience in both open and minimally invasive surgery for a wide range of benign and cancerous gynaecological conditions.

 

He has played a key role in advancing the use of intraoperative ultrasound to improve surgical accuracy, particularly in complex cases and fertility-preserving procedures. His expertise in ultrasound, colposcopy and advanced surgical techniques allows him to deliver comprehensive, personalised care for women across a broad range of gynaecological conditions.

Dr Maya Al-Memar

Miss Maya Al-Memar is a Consultant Gynaecologist at Imperial College NHS Healthcare Trust, with specialist clinical interests in complex benign gynaecology, acute diagnostic services including early pregnancy and acute gynaecology, rapid access for suspected gynaecological cancer, and paediatric and adolescent gynaecology.

She completed her training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in North-West London including specialty training at Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital, St Mary's Hospital and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. Having worked in the largest gynaecology and reproductive medicine service in London at Imperial, she has experience in managing complex patients.

Her focus is to provide the best possible individualised holistic care for women using high quality diagnostics ultrasound skills to streamline care.

She graduated from Imperial College School of Medicine with first class honours in 2007, where she also completed her PhD and is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer. She is widely published in peer-reviewed journals. She currently has on-going research projects in the fields of early pregnancy, miscarriage, ovarian cysts and use of ultrasound to improve diagnosis of ovarian masses.

Professor Sadaf Ghaem-Maghami

Sadaf Ghaem-Maghami obtained her medical qualification from The Royal London Hospital Medical School, University of London in 1990.


She trained as a Gynaecologist and Gynaecological Oncologist in London, obtaining her MRCOG in 1998 and certificate of subspecialty training in gynaecological oncology from Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2004. She was awarded a PhD in immunology of the female genital tract form university of London in 2001.


She is a BSCCP accredited colposcopist with a special interest in abnormal smears and precancerous cervical disease, cervical cancer, uterine (endometrial) cancer, vulval cancer, fallopian tube cancer and ovarian cancer.


She has been a Consultant Gynaecologist and Gynaecological Oncologist at Imperial College NHS Trust (Queen Charlotte’s and Hammersmith Hospitals) since 2006. She is a professor in Gynaecological Oncology at Imperial College, London.


She has been the Chair of the Tumour Panel Meetings in the West London Gynaecological Cancer Centre since 2012 and the director of Subspecialty Training in Gynaecological Oncology since 2013.


Her current research interests include research into surgical technologies in ovarian cancer, ovarian cancer diagnosis and novel markers and treatment of cervical smear abnormalities. She has published in leading medical journals such as BMJ and Lancet Oncology, has edited a textbook and contributed chapters to leading textbooks in ovarian cancer.

Ms Jara Ben Nagi

Ms Ben Nagi is a Consultant Gynaecologist and accredited specialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery, with extensive expertise in fertility care

and advanced reproductive treatments.

 

She graduated from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical School andcompleted her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at several leading London teaching hospitals, including King’s College Hospital, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

 

Alongside her clinical training, Ms Ben Nagi undertook a dedicated two-year research fellowship investigating factors that influence the intrauterine environment and early implantation. This work led to the award of

a Doctor of Medicine (MD) research degree from the University of London in 2009. She has published extensively in high-impact peer-reviewed journals,

including Human Reproduction, The Lancet Oncology, and Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology.

 

In 2013, she was appointed Consultant at a leading fertility centre, where she developed and led specialised programmes including preimplantation

genetic testing and surrogacy services. She later served as Medical Director and Person Responsible, working with a multidisciplinary team to enhance

clinical outcomes and significantly  improve pregnancy success rates within the clinic.  Most recently, she was appointed as a consultant to lead the Recurrent Implantation Failure clinic at Bart's NHS trust.

 

Ms Ben Nagi has extensive experience in the management of couples with infertility, including ovulatory dysfunction, recurrent implantation failure,

recurrent miscarriage, poor ovarian reserve and male factor infertility. She also has a particular interest in women considering social egg freezing. Her debate article on social egg freezing attracted significant media attention and resulted in interviews and features across major outlets, including the BBC,

Sky News and national newspapers.

 

She is recognised for her patient-centred approach, combining scientific expertise with personalised care. She leaves no “stone unturned”. Unlike busy fertility clinics where one can see their consultant once or twice during their journey, she will be there for you throughout your journey from consultations,

scans and procedures. Ms Ben Nagi is committed to delivering evidence-based treatment and believes in empowering patients through clear discussion of the

available options so they can make informed decisions about their fertility journey.
